  • Qualified Mental Health Professional-A

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for meeting face to face with individuals and providing and documenting daily interventions to individuals.  
    • Provide training in or reinforcement of functional skills and appropriate behavior  related to the individuals health and safety, ADL’s and use of community resources; assistance with medication management, and monitoring health, nutrition and physical conditions. 
    • Develop and ensure the ISP is fully completed within 30 days of the initiation of services and indicates the specific supports and services to be provided and the goals and objectives to be accomplished.
    • Meet face to face with the LMHP or designee monthly.
    • Complete individual discharge planning and report for individuals no later than 14 days after discharge.
    • Coordinate care with other professionals that the individual is receiving services from. Inform, assist and arrange for the individual to access and receive benefits and services within the community as well as monitor provisions of those services.  

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


    • Meet QMHP/QMPP status as established by state regulations with knowledge of human behavior and development, family dynamics and related treatment modalities, interventions and techniques.
    • Ability to write reports and maintain consumer records, and develop effective service plans and strategies to meet identified needs.
    • Assist in opportunities through community linkages and social networks.
    • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, and to maintain confidentiality according to all relevant regulations and agency requirements.
    • Certification of CPR, First Aid, and agency approved behavior management technique within the first month of employment and maintained thereafter.
    • Possess a valid Virginia driver’s license, have successful CPS and Background check clearance, verification of pre-employment physical with results from TB screening.

    Education and Experience:

    • At least a bachelor's degree in human service field  
    • Registered with Virginia Board of Counseling as QMHP-A
    • A minimum of one year working with adults with severe diagnosis.
    • Ability to complete documentation in a timely fashion and manage time wisely.

    • Provide training in or reinforcement of functional skills and appropriate behavior to improve family dynamics, provide modeling, and the clinically necessary interventions that increase functional and therapeutic interpersonal relations between family members in the home.

  • Crisis Qualified Mental Health Professional

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provides direct behavioral support care to individuals experiencing a crisis who have been admitted into the stabilization program.  
    • Works one on one with individuals for up to 8 hours per day and coordinates services based on treatment plan.  
    • Facilitates therapeutic groups with family, acts as a liaison between family, referring agency and other community organizations
    • Maintains and writes daily progress notes, treatment plans and discharge summaries.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • The Licensed Outpatient Therapist is responsible for providing individual, family, and group counseling for clients in our outpatient programs 
    • These services are provided in a professional office setting.
    • There are occasions when the Licensed Outpatient Therapist will be responsible for completing assessments in the home and in the community for clients in the Intensive-In-Home and Mental Health Skill Building Programs and/or conducting family therapy sessions as part of a team approach.


    ​Skills & Knowledge:

    • The Licensed Outpatient Therapist must possess strong clinical writing and verbal communication skills, must have experience providing individual and family counseling and have experience working with persons with serious mental, emotional and/or behavioral disorders, substance use and/or co-occurring disorders.
    • The Licensed Outpatient Therapist must have experience and knowledge of crisis interventions and various therapeutic modalities.
    • The Therapist must possess skills and knowledge of successful rapport building, treatment planning, group counseling, evidenced-based counseling practices, diagnostic criteria, and assessment completion.
    • The Licensed Outpatient Therapist must have knowledge of the impact of trauma on an individual’s functioning, and have experience working with diverse populations.


    ​Job Requirements: 

    • The Licensed Outpatient Therapist must hold a Virginia State license in professional counseling (LPC), psychology (LCP), social work (LCSW), or marriage and family therapy (LMFT).

  • Community Outreach Coordinator

    Announcement:

    Leaders for Life, Inc. is a mental health agency serving Richmond and the surrounding  area. Leaders for Life, Inc  is seeking a Community Outreach Coordinator who will continue to spread our motto of Building Skills That Last a Lifetime to agencies and persons we serve. We are seeking an individual that can build relationships with referral sources that have access to our client population that suffer from mental, emotional and behavioral challenges.



    About Your Role:

    As a Community Outreach Coordinator, you will be responsible for the stability and growth of our organization and enlightening the vision and mission of Leaders for Life, Inc.  This position travels throughout the Richmond  and surrounding area to build partnerships with diverse businesses, nonprofits, city/state officials, and educates the community. This position will require engagement mostly in and around the Richmond community. This role requires that the person be organized, professional, and able to navigate within the community comfortably.



    Work Environment:

    The Community Outreach Coordinator will generally perform the job in the community and sometimes in the office.



    Job Description:

    • Responsible for brainstorming potential partnerships or methods for engagement with vendors and  the local community.
    • Work closely with upper management and other organization marketing professionals to strategize different ways to spread awareness about our company while also helping the community.
    • Build and maintain long term relationships with potential referral resources and customers such as community agencies, non-profit organizations, schools, hospitals, social services, homeless shelters, housing authorities, therapists, physicians, etc.
    • Responsible for maintaining a database of all referral sources and developing and maintaining a follow-up system.
    • Responsible for fostering and maintaining clear open communication with the management team with regards to marketing efforts and outcomes weekly with status updates via email.
    • Develops an outreach plan with direction from the upper management based on the needs of the community on a monthly, quarterly, and/or annual basis.
    • Work closely with the upper management to ensure marketing documentation is consistent with marketing strategies and processes.
    • Works closely with community partners to plan and execute various outreach events to promote services. 
    • Maintains a calendar for outreach events, maintains attendee lists, and prepares materials.
    • Responsible for developing and submitting reports to the owners regarding marketing activities.
    • Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and competence,
    • Identify needs and priorities of vendors  and communities in which we work  and participate in interventions to fulfill the needs as they relate to outreach.
    • Attends conferences, fairs, and other professional events and looks for any potential areas for growth.
    • Prepare and distribute correspondence via email, postal mailings, and direct person to person contact.
    • Responsible for marketing efforts that will result in client approval each month and partnership contracts
    • Maintain vendor and client confidentiality.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    Education and Experience:


    • Three (3) plus years of experience working in community outreach or public health administration and partnership development in the Richmond area.
    • Valid Virginia Driver’s License.
    • A resident of the United States.
    • Knowledge of mental health and behavioral health industries.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an organization and with diverse community stakeholders, including volunteers, corporate sponsors, and major supporters.
    • Ability to travel and work some evenings and weekends if required for events.
    • Strong public speaking skills.
    • Ability to work with diverse groups of people and have a non-judgmental, accepting attitude toward people regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, age, or appearance.
    • Fluent in English, both spoken and written; Bilingual a plus but not required.
